Sumona Chakravarti started her acting career as a child artist with Aamir Khan and Manisha Koirala. She also worked in the show “Bade aache lagete h” and become every bodies favorite by playing the role of Kapil Sharma’s on-screen wife. In her latest Instagram post, she revealed that she is suffering from Endometriosis since 2011.
She further says that due to this pandemic situation she is getting got of PMS symptoms and she is getting emotionally disturbed. She never revealed anything about this disease before and has been fighting the battle all alone.

What is endometriosis
The female uterus is surrounded by three layers and the innermost layer is known as the endometrium.✅ The endometrium plays a major role in the uterus and is responsible for the cyclic changes that occur within 28 days.
But, sometimes this inner endometrial lining, glows abnormally outside the uterus resulting in a painful situation. Also, it leads to abnormal tissue growth in ovaries and fallopian tubes.
A female suffering from endometriosis, experiences symptoms such as severe pelvic pain, irregular menstruation, painful urination, painful sexual intercourse, and infertility. Sometimes, females, experience severe mood swings, depression, anxiety, and aggression. Heavy menstrual bleeding may lead to blood loss.
Four stages of endometriosis
Endometriosis is divided into 4 different stages based on what the doctor sees during the laparoscopy;
Stage 1 of endometriosis
In stage one, the size of the growth is minimal and most of the time females is unaware of the symptoms. However, she may experience discomfort, pelvic pain, and heavy bleeding during her periods.
During stage 2, the size of the abnormal growth increases in size and number. The female started to experience symptoms such as severe mood swings, and depression. Also, there are some additional symptoms such as constipation, nausea, abdominal cramping, and blood in the urine.
Stage 3 of endometriosis
The tissue which attaches to the ovary begins to shed at this stage and starts to accumulate and tissues. Which when coming out of the uterus, become dark red and chocolatey brown in color and is extremely painful. To protect the body from this tissue degeneration and blood loss, out form thin films of tissue, called filmy adhesion. By forming these films of tissues, the body tried to heal itself from the inflammation caused by endometriosis.
Stage 4 of endometriosis
This is known as the most severe stage of endometriosis. In this stage, there is a large outgrowth outside the uterus and ovaries which is extremely painful. There occurs a lot of menstrual bleeding and females feels depressed all the time due to hormonal changes.
How Sumona Chakravarti is battling this disease?
According to her Instagram post, she is in the 4th stage of endometriosis and is battling the disease with a healthy diet and regular intense workouts. Also, she says that she tries to keep herself away from stress which is the key element to fight this disease.
According to various research done in the past,✅ healthy food and exercise can help females suffering from endometriosis lead a normal life. Working out daily, release the happy hormone dopamine which keeps the hormone in balance and also helps to fight severe mood swings.
